About Kim Ahonoukoun
Serenity defines the art of Kim Ahonoukoun, a French–Beninese Canadian contemporary impressionist whose work resonates with collectors worldwide. Operating from studios in London and Florida, Kim has become known for creating paintings that radiate peace, depth, and emotional resonance.
Beginning her artistic journey at the age of 35 after a profound moment of clarity during meditation, Kim discovered her ability to translate light, emotion, and movement onto canvas. Her rising prominence has included residencies at the Monet Immersive Experience in Miami and New York, live painting performances at Paris Fashion Week, and collaborations with international luxury brands.
In Into the Light, Kim explores the interplay between luminosity and shadow, using brushstrokes and layered textures to evoke a sense of emergence and transcendence. The work reflects her fascination with nature and waterlilies in particular as a symbol of renewal, courage, and emotional freedom. Her art works initiate a dialogue that invites viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with their own inner clarity.
Artist Statement
"My paintings are all about making your soul feel at peace. My work is a contemporary abstract way of approaching an impressionistic vision. I paint a dreamy version of what I have in front of me. I love using powerful brushstrokes combined with vibrant colors as well as a calming and soft color palette.
When a viewer is standing in front of one of my paintings, I really want them to observe & feel every single brushstroke mainly from an up-close perspective. The closer you get, the more you are able to understand my universe."
